For the record: A Downtown Kingston mouthpiece sounds off

Shadoe Davis, K-ROCK's morning man and unabashed Downtown Kingston booster, gives us this priceless item, printed on the inside front cover of Saturday December 16th 2006 edition of The Ticket, the weekly Saturday Whig Standard insert section.

Mr Davis is the same guy who hosted the laughably slanted morning segment in August 2005 featuring Rob Baker and Councillor Steve Garrisson, which was actually a pre-planned pile-on-Garrisson ambush, and the launch of the Friends of the Entertainment Centre website complete with image manipulations designed to downplay the impact of the OHL arena on the Anglin Bay site. The "Friends of the Entertainment Centre" website, set up by KEDCO operative Mat Abramsky, no longer exists, and is today a portal for various Internet-based scams and porn. Mr Baker later moved on to front other notably misleading advertising pieces funded by members of the same group Downtown Kingston movers. Councillor Garrison was re-elected, which is more than can be said for most Councillors who supported the LVEC, and two of the three who were re-elected squeaked-in and can thank their lucky stars and vote-splitting for their continued presence on Kingston's City Council.

Apparently Mr Davis didn't receive the memo that many of his colleagues were bailing-out, hoping to hide from responsibility for the countless apparent misrepresentations of the LVEC to Kingstonians at large, and City Councillors in particular. Particularly odious in all this was the obvious manufacturing of the pretense of broad public support for the project, which we now know never existed.
